Tips to Clean Your Home With Essential Oils

!±8± Tips to Clean Your Home With Essential Oils

Have you ever noticed that ALL your commercial cleaning products list "warning" or "caution" labels on the bottles? Obviously, those labels are put there for a very good reason. The bottles DO contain poison and can cause adverse symptoms if inhaled or touched. Yikes!

Here's where we can shift to a new concept of cleaning, without worry of chemicals, fumes, or synthetics harming our bodies. Essential oils are the best kept secret for cleaning and purifying your environment.

Amazingly, essential oils are just as powerful as conventional cleaners.

It's very simple and a lot less expensive when you use essential oils instead of store-bought regular cleaners. The essential oils in this article anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-microbial. And the best part is they are 100% safe and even good for you! Conventional cleaners can't say that.

Using the highest quality therapeutic grade essential oils (such as young Living's) is of utmost importance. Poor quality oils are not effective in killing germs, nor are they safe to use in the ways I describe in this article.

Here are a few ways to achieve a healthy, clean home using essential oils.

Floors:

If you mop your floors
(tile, wood, laminate, marble) - replace your floor cleaner and use a bucket of water with 10-20 drops of Lemon and/or Lavender essential oils. Research has shown that lemon and lavender essential oils kill many strains of bacteria. And it's completely safe to inhale and walk upon!

If you steam or Roomba your floors
(tile, wood, laminate, marble) - walk through the house and drop a few drops of Lemon and/or Lavender essential oils in various places. Especially by the front door, garbage can area, bathrooms and kitchen. As you steam the floor, the essential oils will be dispersed by the steamer or roomba, killing bacteria, mold and viruses in the process.

If you vacuum your floors
- put 5 drops of Lemon and/or Lavender essential oil on a tissue and vacuum it up. This will kill the germs that get sucked up in your vacuum and also diffuse the oils into your home leaving it smelling wonderful!

Air Purifiers:

To have a clean air environment, get rid of that air freshener that's plugged into your wall! Its fragrance is definitely not of therapeutic value. Use a few drops of Thieves or Purification essential oil blends on a cotton ball and place it in your AC vent. Both of these blends were formulated to kill airborne bacteria, viruses, mold and fungus. They also neutralize smoke and pet odors.

Or better yet, get yourself a cold air diffuser and diffuse either of these essential oils every day.

Hand Wash:

To make a chemical free, germ-killing hand wash, use up the remainder of your foaming hand wash and save the bottle. Now, fill it 1/8th full with Dr. Bronners liquid castile soap (or organic dish washing soap.) Fill the rest with spring water. Add 10 drops of Thieves essential oil. Shake well and use at the kitchen and bathroom sinks.

Hand Disinfectant:

Loose your Purell and get a bottle of Lemon essential oil. Rub 1 drop of Lemon essential oil into hands after using public restrooms. Lemon essential oil kills germs while uplifting your mood as well. What a bonus!

See how just a few changes in your cleaning routine can easily replace a bunch of chemical cleaning products in your home? I suggest starting slow by eliminating one cleaning product per week and incorporating an essential oil in its place. Soon you will be truly "greener" than anyone else you know and probably a bit healthier, too!

Don't Let Acne Get In The Way Of Your Life

!±8± Don't Let Acne Get In The Way Of Your Life

Acne is a medical condition where the skin produced excess oils and clogged pore become inflamed and red. It can be a mild irritation or it can be extreme to the point where socialization and self esteem suffers. Serious cases should confer with a doctor to get proper treatment. This article hen help you manage the effects of acne.

If you are having trouble with frequent acne breakouts, try applying shaving cream to the affected areas. Let it soak in while you sleep. In the morning, rinse your face off with soap and water. You should see a noticeable difference in the quality of your skin almost immediately.

One major contributor to acne is clogged pores. To avoid this, make sure you wash all make-up off at night with a warm wash cloth or make-up remover. This will help ensure that your pores are able to breathe during the night and refresh themselves instead of being clogged with dirt from your busy day.

It may seem and impossible dream to be able to cover up acne and make it look acceptable. But did you know that green concealer can help cover up blemishes because it is the negative color to the redness of acne! When you dot it on pimples or acne blemishes, the green cancels out the red, making the blemish seem to disappear!

If you have long hair or bangs that cover your forehead, it's a good idea to keep them off your face. Hair oils can contribute to the formation of pimples and acne. Headbands and ponytails can be your best friends in keeping your forehead free of annoying breakouts!

To prevent pimples and acne breakouts, drink a glass of coconut water each day. Coconut water contains all natural ingredients that are not only good for getting smooth skin, but it is also good for your pores. It keeps them open so that acne and pimples cannot form on your ace.

You may want to change laundry detergents if you find that you are getting more acne. Sometimes, the chemicals in these detergents can make acne worse or cause new breakouts. Also, you may want to stay away from bleach as this could irritate your skin and cause new acne breakouts.

To avoid acne breakouts, be sure to avoid using detergents on your skin or to wash your clothes. These harsh chemical and petroleum based products can wreak havoc on your skin. Instead, visit your local health food store to find castile and plant based liquid soaps that can be used as face and body wash, as well as to launder your clothes and linens.

What you put into your body must come out, and that can happen through your pores. If you don't want oily, acne-riddled skin, then don't eat foods with oil! If it goes in, it will come out, and oil is the enemy of an acne sufferer. Stick to healthy, natural foods like fruit and vegetables instead.

If you have acne, read the labels on everything you buy! From laundry soap to makeup remover to shampoo, it's important to keep anything unnatural from sitting next to your skin for any length of time. Choose products with no chemicals, dyes, or perfumes, which call themselves "natural" to ensure you're not going to cause yourself a break out.

Tea tree oil is an excellent exfoliant for anyone who is plagued by acne. It is a powerful antibacterial agent which can help you cleanse your skin while zapping the zit-causing germs in your pores. It also smells quite nice, although somewhat overpowering in it's essential form. Mix with rosewater to both tone and clean your skin.

Water plays a large role in the presence of acne. If you are able to drink at least two liters of water on a daily basis, you are allowing your skin to be fully hydrated and this will shed the dead skin cells from your body in a more effective manner which lessens the amount of blocked pores that may exist.

Clear Skin

Diet plays a significant role in the control of acne. Try to included foods that are high in selenium and zinc. Brazil nuts are a good source of selenium, and pumpkin seeds contain zinc. Fresh fruits and vegetables, either whole or in smoothies, also contribute to a healthy diet and clear skin.

If you're currently battling acne, stop applying makeup. Until you have your pimples under control it is best to just leave your skin to breathe. Throw out all your old makeup and use a new applicator when you get rid of your zits or you'll just end up spreading old bacteria over your new clear skin.

Make sure that you get enough Vitamin D. Get out in the sun and get fresh air. It is free and will help you get healthier skin. This will help stimulate the growth of Vitamin D in your body. Vitamin D helps clear skin up and makes skin healthier.

Use a daily multi-vitamin to help control your acne. Good nutrition and proper vitamin and mineral levels help lead to clean and clear skin and if you are not receiving these, you could be dealing with severe acne. Taking vitamins also helps your body fend off bacteria, another contributor to acne.

Drinking plenty of water is important to maintaining clear skin. Acne breakouts will clear more quickly if you keep your body well-hydrated. Your skin tissue is composed mostly of water and consuming plenty of water throughout the day helps your systems, including your skin, to repair itself. Adequate water intake is imperative to a healthy skin system.

Washing your hair and keeping it clean is an effective way to treat and prevent acne. This is because hair is very good at accumulating oil, dirt and bacteria, and is also capable of transferring them to your skin. Keeping your hair clean is therefore a very important part of maintaining clear skin. Remember to shampoo regularly, and also rinse thoroughly afterwards as the chemicals in the shampoo can also cause acne.

Apply an ice cube to your acne blemishes. Doing this can help to temporarily reduce redness and swelling. Just wrap the ice cube in a towel and apply it directly to your blemish right before heading out. The result will be clear skin for your entire evening out.

Make a paste out of baking soda and water to help unclog the pores of your skin. The mixture will aid in drying up excess moisture and drawing impurities to the surface, thereby creating clear skin that is free from acne. Spread the paste over affected areas and leave on for up to ten minutes. Rinse with clear, warm water.

For clear skin, it is very important that you go to sleep with a clean face. Girls who fall asleep in make-up are very likely to experience an acne break-out not long afterwards. The make-up traps oils within the pores, which later turn into pimples. If you wash your face before going to bed, the oils in your skin will be able to leave naturally, and you will be less prone to break-outs.

If you want to get clear skin and feel your best during the day, try to get eight hours of sleep at the minimum. Sleep is essential for healthy skin, as it helps to replenish your body with the nutrients that it lost during the day, while reducing stress and anxiety.

As explained earlier, acne presents itself with the occurrence of inflamed red bumps and excess oil in and on the skin. Severe cases require a doctor's help to clear up and prescription medications are available. By adopting the strategies of this article, you can improve acne symptoms and severity immensely.

Apple Cider Vinegar - Multi-Purpose Health Aid and More

!±8± Apple Cider Vinegar - Multi-Purpose Health Aid and More

Did you know that vinegar not only has healing properties but also a long and illustrious history dating back as far as 3000 B.C.? Ancient Egyptians kept vinegar in urns; Hippocrates, "the father of medicine," used it to treat patients. It served as a condiment and preservative for the Babylonians, and Julius Caesar's army drank it in a tonic to help maintain health and ward off disease. The Greeks and Romans kept vessels filled with vinegar for healing and flavoring, and in Biblical times it was used as an antiseptic and a healing agent--it is even mentioned in the Bible. Christopher Columbus and his crew brought along barrels of vinegar to prevent scurvy on their trip to discover America, and for centuries the feared Samurai warriors in Japan drank it for strength and power.

But the vinegar most people are familiar with today is a far cry from the substance used by our forefathers for staying healthy and fit. In fact, the situation is similar to that of another kitchen staple--salt. Just as the salt that appears on most dinner tables in America has been so refined and "purified" that it is now a health hazard, the vinegar used today has been refined to where it no longer possesses its health-giving components. The most popular vinegar in supermarkets today is actually a clear, white version created by a food chemist from coal tar!! And because uninformed consumers often buy with their eyes, most purchase this poor imitation of the real thing because it "looks good", even though it has no real nutritional value.

Those consumers do not know what they are missing because real vinegar, that is to say natural (un-distilled), raw, apple cider vinegar (ACV), is one of nature's most perfect foods. In fact, health pioneers Paul and Patricia Bragg made it part of their life's work to re-educate the public about real vinegar's many virtues. One of the main reasons raw, un-pasteurized ACV is so good for you is that it contains cobweb-like substances called "the mother," which can, unfortunately, make the mixture look cloudy and downright unappetizing. Some people might see these "globs of brown stuff" floating at the bottom and even mistakenly think that it is a sign that the vinegar has gone bad, when actually just the opposite is true. The distillation process not only destroys "the mother" and powerful enzymes, but also removes life-giving minerals like potassium, silicon, and trace elements. It also destroys the natural malic and tartaric acids, which are important in fighting body toxins and inhibiting unfriendly bacteria. So distilled vinegars are basically just flavoring agents and nothing more.

Fortunately, because of the Braggs and other natural health practitioners, people are now re-discovering the benefits of all-natural, un-pasteurized vinegar, which are many! This "miracle in a bottle" helps:

o promote youthful skin and a healthy body
o remove artery plaque and body toxins
o fight germs, viruses, bacteria and mold naturally
o retard the aging process in humans, pets and farm animals
o regulate calcium metabolism
o keep blood the right consistency
o regulate menstruation and relieve PMS and UTI
o normalize urine pH, relieving the frequent urge to urinate
o aid digestion and assimilation and balances pH
o relieve sore throats, laryngitis and throat tickles, and cleans out throat and gum toxins
o detox the body so sinus, asthma and flu sufferers breathe easier and more normally
o banish acne and athlete's foot, and soothe burns and sunburns
o treat itchy scalp, baldness, dry hair, dandruff, rashes, and shingles
o fight arthritis and remove crystals and toxins from joints, tissues, and the entire body
o control and normalize body weight

That is quite a list for something so simple and inexpensive! It can also be used as a
mouthwash, to help relieve constipation, improve memory, alleviate "brain fog," and much more.

Many famous people and health practitioners make a habit of drinking a tonic made with 1-2 tsps. ACV and 1-2 tsps. honey in 8 oz. distilled or filtered water, several times a day. Women going through menopause have had great success in dealing with hot flashes by taking the mixture 3 to 4 times a day. Paul Wenner, the creator of Gardenburger, used it as part of his asthma cure, and Gabriel Cousens, MD, author of Conscious Eating and Spiritual Nutrition, has said that "The use of Bragg organic apple cider vinegar is a wonderful health aid, the #1 food I recommend in helping to maintain the body's vital acid-alkaline balance."And for those of you out there interested in shedding some pounds, you will be happy to know that ACV helps with that, as well. Since it naturally supports your body in getting rid of excess fluids, and works to speed up a slow metabolism and curb your appetite, you will have yet one more reason for adding ACV to your daily health regimen.

AND ACV can clean almost anything in your house. Just add liquid castile soap, filtered water, and an essential oil (optional) to some ACV and you have an environmentally-friendly mixture for cleaning floors, the bathroom, kitchen, etc. It can also be used as a fabric softener and in the wash cycle to prevent fabrics from fading. Try vinegar and water as a non-toxic way to clean windows, but be sure to use a micro fabric cloth for wiping instead of newspaper, which contains toxic dyes. Keep your drains unclogged by sprinkling some baking soda down them, followed by ACV. Let the mixture bubble for 15 min., then rinse with hot water.

Baking soda and ACV also make a wonderful spa-like bath for soaking away aches and pains and detoxing the body. It is almost hard to believe that something so simple and inexpensive could have so many benefits and uses! No home should be without it!

For more information about ACV and ways to incorporate it into your daily health routine, check out the book by Paul C. and Patricia Bragg titled Apple Cider Vinegar: Miracle Health System.

Liquid Castile Soap - The Major Benefits of an Environmentally Friendly Soap

!±8± Liquid Castile Soap - The Major Benefits of an Environmentally Friendly Soap

These days there is a general trend towards the elimination of harmful products in the market. This has led to the introduction of natural products with high versatility in terms of usage. One such product is liquid Castile soap. It comprises a group of organic soaps. These soaps are made from vegetable oils such as olive, jojoba and coconut oils. This sets them apart from other soaps, which are made from animal fat. Olive oil Castile soap is the best among the other brands of these soaps. It has many uses and benefits. One of these benefits is that it is made from nontoxic biodegradable components that help reduce pollution in the environment. Apart from the reduced waste in the finished product, the manufacture process also produces little waste, which is also biodegradable. This makes the soap one of the best choices for those who intend to go green. The versatility of liquid castile soap can be proved by its many uses. This makes it highly beneficial for any household.

If you wash your hair with this soap, then you will enjoy the benefits of smooth and soft hair. This is because the soap contains glycerin, which is necessary for moisture retention. Other uses for liquid Castile soap in any home include use as pet shampoo, detergent and shaving foam. The manufacturers also claim some unconventional uses for these soaps such as the use as toothpaste.

Buying liquid Castile soap should not be hard since the soap is readily available in major retail stores. You can also buy the soap online from most of the major online retailers. The main advantage of buying online is cheaper prices and access to different brands of the soap. The manufacturers also have websites, which provide information on how best to use their Castile brands. Buying from the manufactures website allows you to get money back guarantees if you do not like the product.

If fresh aloe vera is not available for purchase pure aloe vera gel from the pharmacy. After shampooing, work a generous amount of it on the scalp massage, and. Rinse

Be careful in dealing with Aloe Vera, because many people tend to develop allergies to the plant, particularly its yellow or liquid latex. Topical application of aloe vera is not applicable to children of hydrocortisone and other topical steroids.

According to Saw Palmetto

Experts say that, as capable of treatingProstate problems, its effect on testosterone production is a good treatment for hair loss. Some drugs for hair loss in the same way.

The majority of pharmacies and grocery stores sell capsules of saw palmetto, and there are several companies that produce shampoos saw palmetto. You can decide what treatment you prefer.

3. Rosemary and sage

Rosemary and sage have been popular treatments for hair loss and alopecia areata especially in the Mediterranean region. They are both astringents and have a tightening effect on the pores. The combination of rosemary and sage cleanses the pores and stimulates the hair follicles in the skin.

How to use:
Gather rosemary and sage. If available, you can also add nettle. Boil equal portions of their stems and leaves. Strain the liquid and get the solid part. By using as little castile soap as possible, make a shampoo out of the concoction. Avoid using too much castile soap as it will dry the scalp.

4. Yucca

Yucca has been used for various medicinal purposes including being used as a shampoo. Yucca cleanses the hair and provides an excellent treatment for the scalp. The plant is said to contain saponins which is a natural detergent. It can treat dandruff and itchy scalp.

How to use:
Get a piece of its root and peel off the brown skin. Once all the brown skin is peeled off and all that's left is its white interior, smash it to pieces. Take a piece and make it lather by running it under water. Using the rather, shampoo it into your hair thoroughly.

If the yucca plant is not immediately available, you can look for yucca root powder which is sold by sellers online.

All of the herbal remedies mentioned above have been debated on whether or not they can really prevent and treat hair loss and encourage hair growth. While there are still no scientific bases that could back up on whether these herbs can really do wonders for our hair, they remain popular because of the benefits they cause on the user's hair and scalp.

Another reason they remain popular is that some herbal medicines are just found in our backyards. Using herbal treatments would cost a fraction of the price you have to pay for a medicine or drug. Also, most people resort to using natural or organic herbal remedies because they have less side effects than their over-the-counter cousins.
